Lawn Treatments Plan
Professional products, expertly applied
Our annual lawn care plan of seasonal lawn treatments is a combination of fertiliser applications, targeted weed control and moss control generally carried out over 5 visits throughout the year. Applied at the correct time of year these lawn treatments give your lawn a balanced and sustainable lawn care framework to keep it looking thick, green and healthy.
Early Spring
Your lawn is checked to see how it has fared over the winter months.
To give your lawn the perfect start to the growing season we typically apply a professional, slow release granular fertiliser to stimulate the root zone. With carefully balanced nutrients to invigorate the grass plant this controlled release treatment promotes thick, green and healthy growth over a period of around 10 weeks.
Lawn weeds are targeted using a selective herbicide. Lawn machine work, such as scarification or aeration, may be recommended. Any lawn problems and diseases are identified and lawn treatments offered.
Late Spring
Lawn health check carried out.
As ground and air temperatures rise we apply a granular or liquid treatment containing additional nutrients giving your lawn more sustained nutrients during this peak growing period.
Treatments improve drought tolerance and turf constitution to help your lawn deal with the summer months to come.
Continued targeted weed control application. Any lawn problems and diseases are identified and lawn treatments offered.
Summer
Lawn health check carried out.
Another sustained nutrient boost giving your lawn the nutrients it needs to run the extra mile as the end of the summer approaches.
This can be a tricky time for lawns as they can suffer from the effects of dry spells and high wear. Our treatments mean your lawn is best placed to fight this stress and fend off certain lawn diseases that can emerge at this time.
Again, a selective weed control is applied. Any lawn problems and diseases are identified and lawn treatments offered.
Autumn
Lawn health check carried out.
Typically, because we live where we do, a moss control and turf conditioner combined with a specifically formulated liquid fertiliser is applied to help keep your lawn greener and stronger throughout the early winter months.
Lawn machine work, such as scarification or aeration, may be recommended.
Any lawn problems and diseases are identified and lawn treatments offered.
Winter
Lawn health check carried out.
Application of a controlled release, micro granular fertiliser specific to the requirements of the lawn. The focus here is to support root development and increase grass plant strength, keeping your lawn healthy and disease resistant during the colder winter conditions.
Moss control applied as necessary. Any lawn problems and diseases are identified and lawn treatments offered.

Lawn Treatments
We choose from a wide range of professional quality fertilisers, lawn treatments and soil conditioners to improve and sustain your lawn throughout the year. Lawn treatments strengthen the whole grass plant and improve soil condition, avoiding some of the problems associated with over supply of nutrients.

Frequently asked lawn treatment questions
My lawn is in a poor state. Is it worth calling you or should I just replace it?
Few lawns are beyond help. You may be surprised how much our professional treatments and services can do to improve your lawn, without the need to dig it up and start again.
When is the best time to start lawn treatments?
Work to improve your lawn can be started at any time of year. The sooner you have a lawn survey, the sooner you can make a start on improving your lawn. In fact, some of the most productive lawn treatments can be undertaken outside of the normal growing season.
I already have a gardener, so why do I need your service?
We specialise in turf care and lawn management and are happy to work with your gardener to improve your lawn.
Our service is designed to complement your work in the garden. Whether you do it yourself or employ a gardener we simply offer additional help and expertise specifically for your lawn.
Is it safe for children and pets?
Yes. All of the regular granular treatments we apply are safe for children and pets. Liquid applications such as weed control sprays are safe when dry, normally after about an hour so, and you can use your lawn in the normal way. To be safe we recommend that smaller pets such as rabbits and guinea pigs be kept off the lawn for 10-14 days or we can agree with you to leave part of the lawn untreated for them. We will notify you when applying any specialist treatments for specific lawn problems that may need to be treated differently.
Do you need a licence to apply professional herbicides and pesticides?
Yes. We hold the relevant professional NPTC licenses for the safe application of these products on your lawn.
How much is this going to cost?
The cost depends on the size of your lawn. To give you an idea, our standard annual programme consisting of five visits based on a 100 square metre lawn will cost as little as £18 per visit inclusive of labour, materials and VAT.
Our service is often cheaper than using DIY products and you will no longer have to keep fertilisers and undiluted chemicals at home, where they can be a hazard to small children and pets.
Why do I need a lawn survey?
The lawn survey allows us to find out the main issues preventing your lawn from looking at its best. From this survey we identify a specific lawn treatment plan for your lawn. Before giving any advice or making recommendations on treatments for your lawn we will carry out a survey. This will include checking soil acidity and composition, levels of surface thatch and soil compaction, identification of moss levels and weed types present. We also check for common pests and diseases. We won’t blind you with science, but arm you with a few simple facts from the survey so we can talk through lawn improvement options and provide you with a quotation.
How can you help keep your lawn at its best?
You can help a great deal. Without regular and timely maintenance of your lawn by you or your gardener our lawn treatment programs will not produce the results we all want. We will give you advice on anything from cutting height and frequency through to identifying and treating lawn problems. If you have any concerns about your lawn between our visits, or simply want some advice, then call us as soon as possible. As we can’t be there to watch over your lawn every day we rely on you to let us know when you see something wrong. Give us a call early and we can do something about most problems before they become more serious.
